No, that's not Jai's WWF wrestling name, that's the name of a granite slab we're considering for the kitchen.
This week has been all about the house...it's like having a baby, but instead of having something cute and warm to cuddle at the end of the day, you have this big, ugly, old blob. I haven't seen the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" but I imagine our experience with our house will be similar. It should start looking and feeling younger as the weeks go on. Right now we're living inside a grandfather house. By the end of the summer, it'll hopefully be an attractive, successful and popular mid-twentiesish man, I mean house.

This week we learned that absolutely nothing works in the kitchen, so I bought a small electric hot-plate type of burner from Target (only $20 btw). We've also been looking at granite for the kitchen counters, finalizing the layout for the kitchen, reading a book on tiles, checking out paint, finding more handymen/contractors, cleaning the walls, fixing an electrical problem in the kitchen, buying slug repellent, buying manure and mowing the lawn so our neighbours won't hate us for being "that house" with the messy yard.

This weekend we're going to have the big fireplace smashed to pieces and hauled away. I'll post pics from before and after! We're also getting the master bedroom painted so we can test out our painter's skills and move into that room.
