Moving Weekend

This is our big moving weekend where we actually start living in the house. Friday night we rented a big U-Haul and filled it up with as much as our arms could carry in 5 hours. At one point Jai was carrying a Queen-sized mattress by the sides and walking back and forth with it. I wish I took a video because it looked like a giant marshmallow escaping the scene of a crime. :p

I was trying to pack things away in an organized manner, when I realized that some things have tons of places and some seem to have none. Like this elephant from our hotel room in Bangkok. We stayed at a nice yet surprisingly inexpensive hotel in Bangkok last year where they left these little elephants after their turn-down service. Where do you put things like that?? Actually, we have 4 little elephant figurines between the two of us, now that I think of it, so I guess that's enough to justify an elephant box. :)

BTW U-Hauls apparently don't lock for the back part of the truck, so we left our stuff on Hope St. overnight hoping nobody would steal our furniture, books, clothes and of course our budding elephant figurine collection. So be careful if you have to rent one and leave it on the street overnight!
